Aloha, Ragnar Hawaii!

It's official! I'm signed up for Ragnar Hawaii on Oct. 14-15, 2016. Only 408 or so days until I am running from Hilo to Hapuna Bay with 11 new and old running friends.

Until then, I'll be dreaming about our last visit to the Big Island during our honeymoon. I already booked a stay at our favorite bed and breakfast. Too soon?

Here's what I'm hoping to see again:

Downtown Hilo

Hawai'i Volcano National Park: We didn't get to explore the park as  much as we wanted to because of our limited schedule. I hope to get a better view of the volcanic activity.

Waipio Valley

Mauna Kea: We couldn't fit the drive to the summit into our honeymoon either. I would love to go to the highest point in Hawaii.

Kohala Coast: I'd love to see the historic sights and lounge on the beaches.

Punaluu Black Sand Beach: We didn't get to stop here because we opted for the rare green sand beach instead.

Kealakekua Bay

South Point

Some of my favorite sights from our honeymoon:

Papakolea Beach

South Point

En route to South Point
Kealakekua Bay

Waipio Valley

Akaka Falls

I can't wait!  If you're thinking about signing up, do it now! The relay is limited to only 300 teams. I'm a little concerned about the number of rental vans/SUVs on the island, but I'll save that for another day.
